Olivia Doutney
Olivia Doutney began her vocal studies in England before continuing her apprenticeship in Switzerland at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Interpretation, followed by a specialized soloist’s diploma at the Hochschule der Künste de Bern with Malin Hartelius.
She soon made her stage debut, performing roles such as the Fünfte Magd (Elektra) in Morley, an Ursuline (Ascanio by Saint-Saëns) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Mimi (La Bohème) at the National Theatre of Zrenjanin (Serbia), Mrs P (The Man who mistook his Wife for a Hat) in Vevey.
As her vocal career has evolved, she has taken on more dramatic roles, most recently performing the title role in Turandot with Grenoble’s Fabrique Opera.
In concert, she sings Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Sinfonie Orchester Biel-Solothurn, Anton Webern’s Sechs Lieder nach Gedichte von Georg Trakl and the Virgin Mary (L’Enfance du Christ) with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève.
